Little things can go a long way in making patients feel comfortable and cared for. A free sandwich seems like a small gift, but for many patients going through chemotherapy, it goes a long way in brightening their day. That’s why the Foundation partnered with Barth’s Market in New Providence to provide free, healthy lunch options for all patients going through chemotherapy at Summit Medical Group Cancer Centers.
And the nourishment doesn’t stop with lunch. Several times each week the Foundation’s Comfort Carts, staffed by our wonderful, regular volunteers, circulate through the Summit Medical Group chemotherapy infusion and radiation floors, providing complimentary comfort items such as blankets, socks, caps, chapsticks, lozenges, snacks and puzzles. Patients and their caregivers are very appreciative, making it clear that these little things are making a big difference. Your donation today allows us to continue adding smiles with little touches that add up to big impact.
We are grateful to the many individuals and groups who so graciously keep our Comfort Cart stocked with handmade caps and blankets, and to the many schools and organizations that hold drives for Comfort Cart items. If you or your group would like to learn how you can help, please call the Patient Resource Center at 973-404-7037 or email [email protected].
